Teen Therapy

Adolescence is a season of profound transformation, where identity, social dynamics, and academic expectations often intersect. These pressures can feel overwhelming, leaving teens feeling disconnected, uncertain, or stuck in the face of change.

I partner with teenagers to navigate the nuanced complexities of anxiety, depression, and the social hurdles that define these years, providing a steady anchor during pivotal transitions like the move toward high school or the leap into college.

My approach honors a teen’s need for autonomy and confidentiality, offering a private, non-judgmental space where they can find their voice. At the same time, I maintain a vital and transparent bridge to parent collaboration, ensuring that the family remains a cohesive support system.

By focusing on the challenges of the "here and now," we work together to build the practical coping skills and self-assurance necessary for your teen to move forward with clarity and intention.

What to Expect

1. The Initial Intake

The process begins with a dedicated space for your teenager to share their perspective and lived experience. This first session focuses on building a genuine, trusting rapport in a safe environment. By prioritizing their voice from the start, we create a foundation rooted in respect and present-moment connection.

2. The Parent Consultation

Following your teen’s initial session, we meet for a parent/guardian intake to discuss family history, current concerns, and goals for your child’s well-being. This step ensures that we are all moving in the same direction and that the "why" behind our therapeutic work is transparent and understood by the entire support system.

3. Ongoing Therapy & Integration

Once the foundation is set, we transition into ongoing individual sessions for your teen, focused on navigating adolescence with clarity and intention. To support lasting progress, we include periodic parent check-ins—creating a bridge between the work in session and everyday family life, and fostering an environment where growth can take root.
